Official treaties of friendsihp have been made with Karkkila (www.karkkila.fi) , Finland, in 1992, the relationship started in 1989; Frogn municipality (www.frogn.kommune.no) , Norway, 1991; Åmål (www.amal.se), Sweden, in 1993; Loimaa municipality (www.loimaankunta.fi) , Finland, in 1996; Prienai (www.tourism.lt/region/kaunas/prienai.htm), Lithuania in 2004.
Cooperation and friendship ties include running and managing local authorities, enterpreneurship, education and culture, social work and youth activites, environmental problems and tourism.
Türi also cooperates with Grenaa municipality (www.grenaakommune.dk), Denmark, but has not signed a treaty of friendship, yet. In 1993 Türi joined the friendship chain of Nordic Countries which unites Åmål, Sweden, Frogn, Norway, Grenaa, Denmark and Loimaa, Finland. Chairmen of the municipalities and town councils meet every other year at some of the member's of the chain. The last meeting took place in Denmark in 2003.
Since May 2004 Türi has a full membership of Douzelage, the Association of Small Towns in the European Union. Before that it had been an observant member for 4 years. The Association unites towns with population less than 10 000 people from every member country of the European Union, one town per country. http://www.douzelage.org/ Local partners of Türi are local authorities of Southern Järva County Lõuna-Järvamaa (Türi Municipality, Oisu Municipality, Kabala Municipality) Friendly relations are between Paide town, Põltsamaa town and Saku municipality. Yearly cooperation is carried out between Türi and other theme capitals Pärnu (www.parnu.ee) and Otepää (www.otepaa.ee).
Türi participates in an international youth project Innovation Circle.
